  • Increase citizen participation in development planning.

Conditions for Local Authorities to Qualify

  • Functional Public Financial Management (PFM) systems.
  • Timely audits and submission of financial statements.
  • Approved Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and Annual Work Plan.
  • Evidence of citizen engagement through Ward Development Committees.
  • Compliance with environmental and social safeguards.
  • Successful Annual Performance Assessment (APA).

Funding

  • Total ZDSP funding is USD 210 million (USD 195m PforR, USD 15m IPF).
  • K256 million disbursed to 95 Local Authorities as capital grants.
  • Performance-based incentives range between USD 200,000 and USD 720,000 per LA.
  • Central government agencies can receive up to USD 10 million annually.

LUSANGAZI DISTRICT SECURES ZDSP FUNDING AND SETS SIGHT ON NEW COMMUNITY HALL PROJECT

Lusangazi District has recorded a major milestone in its development trajectory following its successful qualification for the Zambia Devolution Support Programme (ZDSP) Capital Grant for the 2024/2025 cycle. The district is among 95 local authorities nationwide that met the performance assessment benchmarks set by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD), earning each qualifying council an allocation of approximately K2.6 million.
